The Rug mats are made up of three different layers all using 100% recycled materials. The tufts are made from recycled cotton and microfibres and are bonded to the flexible, anti-slip, rubber backing made from recycled industrial plastics by an extra tough fibre membrane made from recycled plastic bottle lid tops.
Rugs work hard to make their rugs as environmentally friendly as possible. Each year they recycle:
- Over 5.9million T-Shirts to use in the cotton tufting
- Over 7.5million plastic bottles to create the extra tough membrane
- Over 2.5million litres of water to run the mills
- Over 100 tonnes of recycled industrial plastics to use in the backing
